Alex brings experience from both business and education. After a career in retail and hospitality in the UK and Spain, he moved into education more than a decade ago, starting with the operational and strategic development of a British international school in Spain, before progressing into educational leadership more broadly.
He studied Business Administration at the University of London and later completed an MA in Educational Leadership at Coventry University. He is also a member of the Chartered College of Teaching.
Alex teaches Business at IGCSE and A Level, Psychology at A Level, and delivers professional development focused on educational leadership, psychology and neuroscience.
He is particularly interested in how a better understanding of learning can inform classroom practice, strengthen teachers’ professional confidence and support collective improvement. His recent research examined how professional development informed by neuroscience and cognitive psychology might help teachers make more purposeful, evidence-informed decisions.
His current work explores how educational systems and processes can be simplified so teachers and leaders can focus on what matters most: effective teaching, meaningful learning, and sustainable school improvement.
